Vacation In Gatlinburg!

This week finds us vacationing in Gatlinburg TN. We arrived on Saturday late afternoon. It has been very relaxing with plenty of good food and fellowship. We plan to be here until next Saturday. Here are a few highlights so far…

The cabin…

Bringing in the luggage..

A Rook game broke out…

Getting ready for brunch..

We had our own little church service on Sunday morning…

A little visit to a park with a scenic view…

Breakfast on one morning was sausage gravy on biscuits…

Dishes being done…

The hot tub seems to get plenty of use…

One disappointment was the lack of high speed internet at this cabin. Thankfully, Ben had his wireless air card along which made this post possible.

08 Crab Trip # 5 (Wye Mills)

Wye Mills was the destination for todays crabbing effort. It turned out to be the best trip yet this season! This time it was Conrad, Andrew, David, and Tony (a friend from PA) The results of about 5 hours of crabbing were two packed out bulging bushels! Great job guys in actually getting your limit.

Notice the bulging lid…

The 2 bushels…

7/11/08 Crab Trip #4

This is a late post but I wanted to get it on here anyway. It helps me to keep track of how the crabbing season progresses.

Instead of going to Tred Avon again we elected to give Wye Mills a try. We took two boats. Mine, which was captained by me, and my brother’s which was captained by Conrad. Got started crabbing by around 6:30. We ended up with a total of 3 bushels among the 2 boats. Quite the mixture in sizes. A few were near 8 inches! A good number of throw backs since they were under 5 inches. All in all, a good day. We ended up taking them to a family reunion last weekend. It seemed to be a big hit.

Conrad plans to go tomorrow with a friend from PA. I will post the results.
